Highstreet Shop

Visitors to Burford Woodcraft in person take the opportunity to browse in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It’s one of only a handful of galleries specialising in wood.

Visit us in Burford’s famous High Street

Burford Woodcraft is housed in a fine old Cotswold stone building on a high street of listed architecture. We have been making and promoting contemporary British woodwork since 1978. Looking downhill into the Windrush valley we see the same beautiful rolling limestone landscape that saw the growth of this historic town. It grew with the wealth of the wool trade and saw the birth of the Arts and Crafts movement with William Morris.

From small beginnings with just a few makers we now exhibit the work of over eighty, one of whom, Robert Lewin is a partner in BW and he’s also a furniture designer-maker. All our craftsmen and women are skilled in using a variety of techniques and finishes to produce high quality pieces. These illustrate the natural beauty and versatility of the wood, be it a bookmark or a chest of drawers.

We hope that you will enjoy your visit to our website. You are also invited to visit us personally where you’ll always be offered a warm welcome. Come and see for yourself why it is that so many of our customers return time and again.
